The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) uses passenger cars, light trucks, school buses, and other vehicles to test vehicles for safety. These vehicles are then reported to the GSA for sale after they have passed their safety tests. These vehicles are listed as "disaster" or "not roadworthy" or "salvage sale." Program cars

There are two main options to purchase a used car: either from an auto dealer's auction, or from a program vehicle at a rental car agency. Both are equally valuable. However, the difference lies with how you assess the vehicle's worth. Because the vehicle is still in its original condition, an auto dealer auction can offer great deals. Program cars, on the other hand, are typically in good condition.
